The artistic duo Andra Jurj and Lena Geerts are reconceptualizing the contested geopolitics of borders and ownership between humans and nonhuman actors in their project “Monsters and Ghosts of the Far North”. Together with them, the workshop invites to think and create different ways of mapping, focusing on agents that inhabit our landscapes, sounds and smells, changing over time and building upon scientific datasets. The ideas resulting from mapping a local environment in forms of analogue cartography will be brought into a multi-medial collage of the multi-sensorial landscape. From narratives to games, from digital codes to sensorial strategies and working with scientific researchers, Andra Jurj and Lena Geerts will share insights and provide guidance for your own projects.
